DEVMODEL The
FDM, DGM and WGM models are very handy tools for planning the development, or
continuing the development, of oil and gas fields. It will forecast gas, oil
and water production profiles into the future and determine economic recovery
and the NPV of the oil and gas. When
planning the development of a field, the economic number of wells required to
adequately recover the oil can be determined.
Sensitivity runs can be made with increasing numbers of wells until
the NPV of an incremental well does not cover the cost of drilling the well.
The same can be done when planning the size of the facilities. The models can
also evaluate the benefit of accelerating the rate of recovery. The
WDM model can be used to determine the optimum waterflood
pattern for a given reservoir. The
sensitivities associated with any pattern can also be evaluated. The WDM model also includes a facility to
history match a developed waterflood. Overall,
DEVMODEL is quite versatile and should be able to model most field
development scenarios. This program is still
in development. The most current beta version can be downloaded here: Devmodel_Install.zip NOTE: There is an issue in the install routine
that places a couple of library files in the wrong directory. This can easily
be corrected by copying the files “5Spot.LIB” and
“7Spot.LIB” from “….\Libraries\” to
“….\Library\” in the install directory. The
“…\Libraries\” directory can be deleted. Please contact don@eastexpetroleum.com for more
info concerning this program and to forward any comments on how to make the
program more useful.
